I am writing to you from the Johannesburg airport! We arrived in Nelspruit, South Africa on Tuesday of this week and spent the past few days at a place called Old Vic’s Inn for a debrief of our first month overseas. It was a nice week to reset and spend some quality time together as a team. Now we are awaiting our flight to Port Elizabeth, which will put us within driving distance of Jeffrey’s Bay.
We ended our week going to Kruger for a sunrise African safari. Kruger is about the size of Israel, so we saw close to 25% of it. We got up at 3:30 a.m. and got back around 4:00 p.m. We got to see four of the big five animals of Africa: male lion, African elephant, buffalo, and white rhino. The only one we were missing was a leopard, but we got to see several other animals as well. We were told that lions are not seen every time, and we got to see eighteen of them. Seeing two male lions was one of the best parts. We got within twenty yards of one of them. I also really enjoyed the giraffes and the elephants. It was a super cool experience and a fun day together as a team!
With time to reflect this week, one of the overall themes I’m noticing in my walk with God is steadfastness… remaining steadfast despite emotional highs and lows. There is a lot that we experience while being away, and it is important to just keep my focus on the fact that God never changes and is always loving me with His perfect love. As I’ve tried to start processing what I’ve been experiencing, it all seems a little blurry, but I’m able to rest in the fact that God is right with me every step of the way. He welcomes my emotions, my feelings, my thoughts, and I learn to know Him more as I lean on Him through it.
God has been so good and faithful to me and to my squad. There are certainly ups and downs, but I’m learning to stay steady and walk with Him each step of the way. I would love if you prayed for my squad and I as we enter our next place of ministry. We have not been given details on exactly what we’re doing, but we are excited to see what God is going to do in Jeffrey’s Bay.
Thank you again for all of your support. I am so grateful for each of you who are supporting me financially and through prayer. This opportunity could not have happened without you; from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU.
[As I mentioned in my last post, I am not sure when I will be posting blogs now because of our change in location. However, you can now subscribe to my blog, so you will be able to receive notifications when I post.]
Lots of prayers for your squad!!!!!!!!!!!
